The Corn Pathology Lead owns corn disease screening for hybrids and inbred lines, delivers reliable disease phenotypic data and interprets results to guide breeding advancement and product advancement decisions. Conduct regular field visits and on-site phenotypic scoring to ensure accurate, firsthand disease observation. 带领先正达中国区玉米病害研究团队，为育种项目提供关键病害抗性鉴定信息，覆盖黄淮海、东华北、西北和西南等区域育种组的需求。常态化深入田间开展实地调查与表型记载，获取一手病害观察数据。 • Develop standardized disease screening protocols. Collaborate closely with breeders to design regional screening plans, organize inoculum preparation, and coordinate field and lab trial execution with nursery teams. Ensure high repeatability, stable inoculation pressure, consistent assay standards, and reliable data quality. Analyze the correlation between artificially inoculation resistance and natural field performance. Provide robust data evidence for breeding material advancement and product pipeline decision-making. Deliver raw datasets as well as interpreted deep insights for breeding teams by region and breeding group. 开展病害鉴定实验的数据采集、分析与汇总，并分析人工鉴定抗性结果与大田自然发病表现的相关性，为育种材料晋级、产品管线决策提供数据支撑；按育种组、生态区输出原始数据，同时提供深度解读分析，赋能育种团队。 • Monitor shifts of pathogen races and novel/emerging diseases via field surveys and collaborative research. Provide timely technical advice to breeders for adjusting breeding targets and resistance priorities. 持续监测病原菌小种变化、新发/未知病害发生动态，为育种家调整育种目标、抗病选择方向提供参考。 • Collaborate with breeders and molecular scientists to support disease resistance trait discovery, validation and deployment. Translate resistance loci, candidate genes and trait outputs from discovery breeding into phenotyping schemes, verify resistance consistency under real field conditions, and facilitate the adoption of valuable resistance sources into commercial breeding. 和育种家、分子科学家协同，支持抗病性状发掘、验证与落地转化；把发现育种产出的抗病位点、基因、性状信息转化为可落地的表型鉴定方案，在真实田间环境验证抗性和稳定性，推动优良抗病资源导入商业化育种流程。 • Connect with Syngenta global pathology network and domestic public research institutions, keep abreast of cutting-edge advances in corn pathology, and align local practices with global technical standards. 对接先正达全球病理团队以及国内公共科研平台，持续跟进玉米病理领域前沿进展，对齐全球技术标准。 • Take overall accountability for the pathology team’s delivery, HSE, compliance, people management and R&D budget. Ensure all lab and field disease trials comply with company policies, regulatory requirements and HSE rules. 对病理团队整体交付、HSE合规、人员管理、研发预算负责；所有室内、田间病害试验严格遵守公司制度、法规以及HSE管理要求。

任职要求

• • Solid mastery of plant pathology fundamentals and deep expertise in corn diseases.

• • Proficient in pathogen isolation, identification, culturing and inoculation techniques.

• • Thorough understanding of commercial corn breeding pipelines, breeding systems, statistical frameworks and breeding decision logic.

• • Proficient oral and written English communication.

• Critical experience
• • PhD or Master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant working experience in plant/corn pathology.
