Syngenta Beijing Innovation Center, the center of excellence for genome editing and next-generation breeding technologies, is seeking a highly motivated and innovative scientist in plant reproductive biol-ogy. This role will contribute to the discovery, development and application of advanced reproductive technologies that accelerate breeding, seed production technologies, trait discovery for crop improve-ment and deployment. The successful candidate will play a key role in understanding and engineering reproductive processes to enable breakthrough breeding technologies and seed production technolo-gies (e.g. HI-Edit, Apomixis, genic male sterility (GMS), doubled haploid (DH), etc.). Key responsibili-ties include: • Design and execute research activities focused on plant reproductive development, including gametogenesis, fertilization, embryo development, seed formation and reproductive cell fate specification. • Investigate molecular, genetic and cellular mechanisms underlying apomixis, male sterility, haploid induction and genome elimination in target crop species. • Discover and validate genes, pathways and regulatory networks controlling reproductive traits using genome editing, molecular biology and genetic approaches. • Develop and optimize breeding-enabling technologies associated with GMS, DH production, haploid induction and HI-Edit platforms. • Establish robust phenotyping, cytological and molecular assays to characterize reproductive processes and evaluate technology performance. • Integrate reproductive biology knowledge with genomics, transcriptomics, epigenomics and single-cell datasets to generate biological insights and identify novel targets. • Collaborate closely with genome editing, breeding, transformation and data science teams to translate scientific discoveries into practical breeding applications. • Generate innovative ideas, initiate research projects, and contribute to intellectual property generation. • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and provide scientific expertise in plant reproduc-tive biology across research projects.

任职要求

• • Ph.D. or exceptional postdoctoral experience in Plant Reproductive Biology, Developmental Biology or related disciplines.
• • Strong theoretical understanding of plant reproductive development, including meiosis, game-tophyte development, fertilization, embryogenesis and seed biology.
• • Research experience in one or more of the following areas (Apomixis, Male sterility (GMS/CMS), Doubled haploid technology, Embryo development, Plant developmental genet-ics)
• • Hands-on experience with molecular biology, genome editing, gene function validation, trans-genic technologies and plant phenotyping.
• • Experience with microscopy, reproductive tissue analysis, cytology, pollen biology, embryo characterization or related reproductive assays.
• • Familiarity with omics technologies, bioinformatics analyses and AI-assisted research tools.
• • Strong experimental design, data analysis and problem-solving skills.
• • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within multidiscipli-nary teams.
